Developing young leaders one cadet at a time, that's the purpose driving the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. The Mississippi and Alabama wings are training in Gulfport this week. We talked to cadets taking steps to shape their young lives. Krystal Allan has the story.
Basic applications for encampment are due on May 31 (less than one week away). If you are attending, please get them in as soon as possible.
To download the application and supporting forms, go to: www.almsencampment.com > Resources > IE6 Page > Documents (note that there is a page one and page two under the documents section).
Make sure to include all of the following:
1. CAPF 31 (signed by parent and squadron commander or deputy commander for cadets)
2. F31B Medical Form
3. F31B Medical Supplement (this form allows the medical officer to give you over the counter meds, such as Tylenol, etc)
4. Military O-flight consent form (if we go on a military o-flight and you don't have this form, you won't be able to fly)
5. T-shirt size form (found on the last page of the operations order)
6. $150 check made payable to Mississippi Wing Civil Air Patrol (this covers your lodging and food for the entire week)
